Gloucester Punchline

The technical wizardry was supplied by the company who are also the festival's title sponsors. Rock Solid Knowledge pulled out all the stops to ensure the online experience was both pleasurable and easy to use.
Director and co-founder of Rock Solid Knowledge, Andrew Clymer, explained: "It was important that the website was easy to navigate and of course to provide essential information about the events such as date, subject and whether they were free".
Not only did Rock Solid Knowledge ensure that the transfer from the old History Festival website to the new one was seamless but they integrated online ticket sales with the city’s Tourist Information Centre. So History Festival fans were able to sit back and buy tickets online at their leisure.
Gloucester History Festival Co-ordinator Mhairi Smith said: "Fifty per cent of ticket sales were online this year compared to five per cent last year, which was welcome because it provided a service that was needed. It also meant the workload for the Tourist Information Centre staff was substantially reduced". She added: "From the very first meeting with the History Festival team, Rock Solid Knowledge had a complete grasp of what the festival was about and showed that they cared. They constantly came up with good ideas and changes to make the experience better and were an important part of the Festival organisation. Nothing was too much trouble".
Gloucester History Festival committee member Donna Renney said: "The History Festival is about encouraging the visitor to explore the city and discover the extraordinary architectural gems that are part of the city today as well as going to talks and workshops. It’s a busy time for any festival-goer and having an app to help our visitors make the most of their time is a huge help. The attention to detail, the speed of reaction and the way Rock Solid Knowledge look after the client is absolutely brilliant. We are already planning next year’s History Festival and we certainly look forward to working with Rock Solid Knowledge again".
Andrew Clymer said: "The companion mobile application was a good example of Rock Solid Knowledge’s agility. It was a complete surprise to the History Festival organisers and something special, above and beyond what we had originally been committed to do. The application’s focus was on helping festival goers while they were at the event, providing essential up to the minute information such as travel times and directions to their next booked event". Andrew added: "We really enjoyed working with Gloucester History Festival and were proud to be part of its amazing success. Here at Rock Solid Knowledge we are passionate about what we build and work hard to provide the constant care and support our clients need".
